I was probably destined for Architecture at a nearly age. Like many girls, I played with Barbies growing up, including my dad’s homemade Barbie house and later addition. I was fascinated with changing the setup of Barbie’s rooms and creating new spaces. I also really enjoyed sketching and drawing from an early age. During junior high, I attended a drawing class at the local college, which made a strong impression on me. I also took a drafting course in high school. Merging my love for drawing, and creating spaces, led me to pursue Architecture as a college major.
I grew up near Champaign, Illinois, so attending the University of Illinois seemed a natural choice. I was fortunate to have a top-rated Architecture school just down the road. There was a lot of work in the program, including many late nights in the design studio, but it was also rewarding. The highlight of college was my junior year, spent studying abroad in Versailles, France. We got to travel across Europe studying many architectural wonders. It was fascinating to experience the staying power of well-planned spaces, buildings, and cities.
Since school, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including roles focused on commercial and multi-family projects, production home building, and home remodeling. My move to A. Perry Homes has provided a welcome opportunity to fine tune and focus my skills on luxurious custom homes which will last for generations. I am proud to be a part of this great team.
Aside from my passion for Architecture, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and our pup, a Coton du Tulear named Bella. I also enjoy scrap booking, book clubs, and scrolling through TikTok.
