Growing up in the Round Lake area, my earliest memories are of following around my grandfather. He retired when I was young and was always working on a project around the house or tinkering with something in the garage. It was from him that I learned the pleasure of working with your hands, building something from scratch, and seeing a project through completion. At 16 I entered the trades as a laborer for a master carpenter who framed custom homes throughout Lake County. I worked summers and weekends for him until I graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Business Administration, and then began working for him as a carpenter full time.
At age 30 I struck out on my own, working on small projects, substantial remodels, or new homes directly for homeowners. I really enjoyed interacting directly with the clients, ensuring that the project was completed correctly, that they were happy with the work, and that their dream project became a reality. At A. Perry Homes, I enjoy providing a high level of service to our clients whether their project is a new home or remodel, and levering the latest in building science and technology in the industry.
I currently reside in West Lake Forest in a home that I remodeled myself with my amazing wife, whom I met just after high school, and our three children ages 12, 10, and 8. When my wife and I are not driving our children to various rinks to complete in speed skating and ice skating, I enjoy working on projects around the house or in my very over-sized garage, just like my grandpa.
