Tony Perry

Founder, Architect

There is nothing more satisfying than seeing our client’s reactions when first walking through their home. At the age of twelve, I knew designing and building homes would be my life’s passion.

Our firm, A. Perry Homes, focuses on providing an engaging, personalized, professional service to our clients. My goal is to provide the very best in design, based on each family’s goals and tastes while making the client’s experience fun and interactive for that client. I have hired, trained, and collaborated with this team for over 25 years.

I have traveled extensively throughout Europe in order to study the architectural details of historical buildings. Many of the details you see in my designs are authentic representations of actual buildings in Europe. Some details are inspired by the images of the many buildings I have seen or visited. I love to study buildings and spaces to see how they make people feel, how well they work for the people they were designed for, and what makes them a success. A building should not only be beautiful, but it should also fit the client well. There should be the right-sized space for every need, perfectly designed, with wonderful materials and incredible craftsmanship.

As a licensed architect with over 40 years of architectural and construction experience, my background includes both new construction and remodeling. I’ve designed and built luxury custom homes, condominiums, historical restorations, remodels, restaurants, shopping centers, and commercial buildings. I have been the design architect on 600+ homes, exceeding $900 million in construction costs. I have been honored to win more awards than any other Architect in the Midwest and was a featured speaker for years at the National Custom Builder Conference and the National Remodeler’s conference. My work has appeared on NBC-TV, ABC-TV, WGN-TV, HGTV, and WTTW-TV (PBS) and has been featured in dozens of magazines and newspapers. My designs have been published in several national magazines including Luxe, House Beautiful, Better Homes and Gardens, and many trade journals.

I have always felt it important to contribute more than my work, so I am involved with a number of organizations that focus on improving the lives of others. Recently, I served as Chairman of the board for Northwestern University Settlement House. Their mission is nurturing, educating, and inspiring children and families in Chicago, breaking the multi-generational cycle of poverty. Understanding the need to preserve and conserve resources for future generations, I design earth-friendly buildings that use reclaimed materials, utilize sensitive siting, and limit or conserve nonrenewable resources. Our new studio has organic rooftop gardens that provide healthy vegetables for our neighbors, employees, and non-profits.

I split my time between Key Largo, Florida, Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Wilmette, IL. I am working primarily in our South Florida office on projects located in Naples, Palm Beach, and Miami. The South Florida and Tennessee markets offer opportunities for us to continue working with our past clients since it’s a popular retirement and relocation destination. Our Wilmette offices serve the entire Midwest and keep me close to my granddaughters, Maya, Brenna, and Adeline who is featured in many of our images/marketing.

When I have some free time, I enjoy adventures like boating, hiking, and riding ATVs usually with my wife, Dee, and our 2 labs, Teddy and Bentley.

My clients experience my passion for design. When I design for you, you will be engaged in a fun, personal, artistic process to ensure your home fits you well. You deserve no less.
